Test Preparation:

Learning Express (Log in with your library card number): Unlimited access to interactive skill-building courses and a broad range of practice tests based on such official exams as the ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, Firefighter, Police Officer, Paramedic, EMT Basic, U.S. Citizenship, Postal Worker, Cosmetology, Real Estate Agent & Broker Exams are available.

TExES/ExCET:  www.texes.ets.org -  go to Preparation Materials on the left hand side of the page.  You have to scroll pretty far down, but there are tons of downloads for specific certifications – even the Generalist test that we get asked for all the time.

TAKS/TEKS: www.tea.state.tx.us/index.html - the state releases older versions of the TAKS test periodically and these can be downloaded and used as study guides for the current version of the test.  Answers are included – this is a feature that many of the books do not have.  To locate the released tests, go to the ‘How do I’ section over on the right side of the page.  The first option is “How do I find TAKS released tests” – it takes you right to them.  There is everything from 3rd grade through the Exit level.  They are available in both English and Spanish.

The College Board:   www.collegeboard.com  - provides registration information for the SAT, as well as free practice questions with detailed explanations, sample essays, a full printable practice test with answers.
