Reading Club

From June 6 through July 23, children of all ages can stop by the Allen Public Library and pick up a reading log or register online from your own home. All logs must be returned to the library by July 30 in order for children to claim their prize. Children are encouraged to read whatever interests them and the Children's staff are happy to make recommendations.

Story Times

We offer many story time sessions during the summer. These are free and do not require registration. Story times are 20-30 minute sessions offered in the Children’s Program Room. Check our Story Time page for details.

 Weekly and Special Programs

We offer a variety of weekly and special programs throughout the summer.  Our weekly programs include Reading Buddies for children entering 1st and 2nd grade and beTween for ages 8 - 11.  We're looking forward to an exciting summer filled with crafts, puppet shows, a scavenger hunt, sing-a longs, and much more! Performers

We have a variety of children’s performers scheduled throughout the summer. Performances are offered free with no advance registration required in the Civic Auditorium. Seating is limited. Two performances are scheduled for each show, the first at 2:30 p.m. and the second at 3:45 p.m. Tickets for the first show will be given out at 2:00 p.m. and tickets for the second show will be given out at 2:30 p.m.  View the Children’s Performers page for details.
