Service Rates & Penalty Fees

 

The City of Allen has established rates for utilities based on the cost of providing the services and a review of rates among comparable cities. Water and sewer rate changes for some service categories went into effect February 1, 2009.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICE RATES
Utility Billing Service and Penalty Fees AS OF APRIL 1, 2010
Deposit	$50 initial deposit
Customers are assessed an additional non-refundable deposit of $50 each time they are cut off for non-payment of their utility bill.
Residential Water: Minimum bill increases based on meter size
Up to 1,500 gallons -5/8” standard meter	$8.47 per month (minimum bill)
1,501 to 15,000 gallons	$2.36 per 1,000 gallons
15,001 to 25,000 gallons	$2.95 per 1,000 gallons
25,001 to 50,000 gallons	$3.69 per 1,000 gallons
50,001 to 75,000 gallons	$5.54 per 1,000 gallons
over 75,000 gallons	$8.31 per 1,000 gallons
Additional Meter Sizes	Minimum Charge
Up to 1,500 gallons - 3/4” meter	$14.12 per month (minimum bill)
Up to 1,500 gallons - 1” meter	$22.59 per month (minimum bill)
Residential Sewer: Based on water usage
Up to 1,500 gallons	$20.79 per month (minimum bill)
Next 8,500 gallons	$1.28 per 1,000 gallons
More than 10,000 gallons	$31.67 maximum
Residential Drainage	$3.00 per month
Trash & Recycling Pickup (includes one trash and one recycle polycart)	$15.02 per month
Each additional TRASH polycart	$8.89 per month
Each additional RECYCLE polycart	$2.10 per month
Polycart Replacement	$72.24 per cart
HHW Pickup	$0.57 per month

PENALTY FEES
Bill not paid by due date	10% penalty on entire past due amount
Reconnection Fee During regular business hours	$20
