The Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps sponsor National Preparedness Month (NPM) across the country to make every effort in helping you learn some simple, effective ways to be Ready should the need arise. Held each September, NPM is designed to encourage all of us to take a few quick steps to prepare ourselves for emergencies that might arise in our homes, businesses and communities. This year’s focus will be on changing the perception on what it truly means to be “ready,” make sure we are all aware of the different types of emergencies that could affect our area and the appropriate ways to respond them.
