Saturday Night Rec ‘n Roll

Saturdays, 7 - 11 p.m., Joe Farmer Recreation Center, 1201 E. Bethany

Age: 8-12 years | Cost: $8 - $14

A fun, safe, social program for students in grades 3-6. Nightly activities include gym games, dance music provided by DJ, bounce houses, dodge ball, pool, table tennis, theme nights and contests with prize give-a-ways. Supervision is provided and concessions are available. Party Pack is available for $12. A $5 identification card is required for participation. Pre-registration must be purchased at JFRC before 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event or walk-up fees will be applied starting at 7 p.m. To learn more, call JFRC at 214-509-4750.

Summer Sounds Concert Series

Mondays, May 16 - June 20, 7 p.m., Joe Farmer Recreation Center Amphitheatre, 1201 E. Bethany

Cost: FREE

The 14^th Annual Summer Sounds Concert Series kicks off on Monday, May 16, and continues every Monday with a different concert through June 20. All Summer Sounds concerts happen at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center Amphitheatre, 1201 E. Bethany. The music will range from tropical sounds to rockin’ country to contemporary pop hits and more. Thanks to the City of Allen and the Parks and Recreation Department, all Summer Sounds concerts are free and begin at 7 p.m. each Monday night. Light concessions and snow cones are available for purchase. Ground blanket seating is preferred so that concert goers of all ages can enjoy the best line of sight.

Family Bike Day

Adult/Child Family Tennis Day

Thursday, May 26, 6 - 7 p.m. (4-6 years), 7 - 8 p.m. (7+ years), Ford Park Tennis Courts, 632 Park Place

Cost: FREE

Instructors will teach techniques to parents to enable them to teach/play tennis with their children. Parents will participate in games with kids providing an opportunity to enjoy and learn tennis together. Hurry, family tennis day will fill up!

Family Night at Ford Pool

Friday, June 10, 6 - 8 p.m., Ford Pool, 704 Whitman Drive

Cost: FREE for under 7 years / $3 for 7 years+

Join us once a month for Family Night at Ford Pool. It's an evening of food, fun and family time. We keep the pool open late and take care of dinner so you can enjoy the evening as a family. Register early or at the door. Each guest will receive a coupon for concessions.

Step Up To Health

Monday, June 13, 6 - 7:30 p.m., Joe Farmer Recreation Center, 1201 E. Bethany

Cost: FREE

In conjunction with the Summer Sounds Concert events, Step Up To Health is designated to highlight the many health/wellness programs offered by Allen Parks and Recreation through sports, recreation and the arts. Visitor Center Lock-In

Friday, June 17, 11 p.m. - 7 a.m., The Edge Visitor Center, 201 E. St. Mary

Cost: $20 members / $25 non-members

This fun-filled night is one you and your friends do not want to miss. From video game tournaments and movies to dodge ball, you'll be up all night! Concessions will be available and meals will be provided.
