The Planning & Development Department assists policy makers, property owners, developers and citizens in regard to growth and new development while stabilizing and conserving existing development. The Planning process, including zoning, platting and site plan submission, is important to assure development standards and requirements are met. The Planning & Development Department reviews all plans for new development or redevelopment to ensure compliance with the Allen Land Development Code. Various aspects of the process involve the Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment/Building & Standards/Sign Control.
