By taking a proactive response to crime trends through enforcement efforts, education of the public, and utilization of crime prevention techniques, the City of Allen maintains one of the lowest crime rates in the North Texas area.

Allen ranked in top 10 for safest city in the US for a second year

The Allen Police Department is proud to announce that for the second year in a row, it has been named as one of CQ Press's City Crime Rankings safest cities out of the 393 cities considered in the study. Allen ranks as #9 nationwide with a population over 75,000 and #7 within its population group (75,000-99,999).  Allen was the first city listed in Texas, thus making it the safest city in Texas.  Chief Rushing would like to thank the community for their continued support; the Mayor, City Council, and the City Manager for their vision; and the hard working men and women of the Allen Police Department.  If you would like more information, please visit the CQ Press website.

The Allen Police Department has a “Tip Line” phone number for persons wanting to report criminal activity and remain anonymous. The phone number is 972.727.TIPS (8477).
