Jail

The City of Allen is one of only three cities in Collin County to have its own functional jail. The jail holds individuals with Class C Misdemeanors. Persons wishing to visit a prisoner or to pay a prisoner’s fine or bond must inquire at the front desk at the Allen Police Station. Visitation hours are 9:00am to 11:00 am and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm daily.
 

During the 2009 calendar year, approximately 2,761 prisoners were processed through the jail. Currently, there are five detention officer positions in the jail.
 

The detention officers' duties include assisting police officers with prisoners, daily jail operational functions, coordinating transfer of prisoners to other facilities, finger printing, and booking in arrestees.
