The Allen Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit association resource for Allen and Collin County businesses. It is a voluntary organization of business owners and citizens who are investing their time and money in a true community development program – working together with the City of Allen, the Allen Independent School District and the Allen Economic Developmet Corporation to improve the economic, civic, and cultural fortitude of the region, community, and greater Allen area. The Allen Chamber also offers the Leadership Allen program for interested individuals who live or work in Allen, or is a member of the Chamber. This dynamic program has been created to support the development of corporate and community leaders.
The Allen Kiwanis Club is a service organization made up of local business leaders and residents who help to meet the needs of groups and individuals in the community.
The Allen Lions Clubs are service organizations dedicated to the community and humanitarian assistance. The city has two clubs that meet at different times - the Allen Texas Lions Club meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at Ralph & Kacoos at 7 p.m. The Allen High Noon Lions Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Verona’s Italian Bistro (inside Stacy Furniture) at Noon.
The Allen Masonic Lodge No. 1435 is a service organization of men which meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united world wide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are two groups that meet in Allen - the Allen Rotary Club which meets at Noon on Wednesdays at the Chase Oaks Golf Club and the Rotary Club of Allen Sunrise which meets at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Twin Creeks Hospital, 1001 Raintree Circle.
The Allen Veterans Memorial honors past and present members of the Armed Forces of the United States and is located at Bethany Lakes Park. The project broke ground on July 4 of this year and construction is expected to be completed in 2010.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are women eighteen years of age and older who can prove lineal, blood descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence. The General Bernado Galvez Chapter is located in Allen and meets the third Tuesday of each month, August through May.
VFW 2195 Post Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at The Reel Thing Cafe, 600 East Main Street in Allen.
