Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – Friday, December 3

The holiday season in Allen begins Friday, December 3 with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Join friends and families in the Allen Civic Plaza for the grand lighting of the 35-foot Christmas tree featuring more than 20,000 lights.

There promises to be a lot of surprises, live entertainment, and crafts for the entire family. The official start to holiday season wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa and his elves. Santa will hear wish lists and slow down long enough during his busy season to pose for pictures with the kids. The event is free and open to the public.

Rudolph Run – Saturday, December 4

After a night of celebration, wake up and keep the festivities rolling at the 15th Annual Rudolph Run 1-Mile Fun Run and 5K on Saturday, December 4. Run or walk through the streets of downtown Allen at this merry event with Santa, Rudolph, and many helpers!

The races begin at 8:15 a.m. with the Fun Run immediately followed by the 5K. Cost is based on date of registration: Fun Run (1 mile) - $15 (through 11/28), $20 (after 11/28), $25 (race day); Rudolph Run (5K) - $20 (through 11/28), $25 (after 11/28), $30 (race day).
